My name is Meenakshi Singh, and my passion for sustainability was ignited during my tenure as a marketing consultant, where I witnessed firsthand the critical need for accessible and actionable solutions in the environmental landscape of my city of work, Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Having lived my whole life in Mumbai, I saw it become a mismanaged and dirty town with sludge flowing through Mithi River in the centre of it from a clean city which was developing to accommodate the big brands of the future. This one big and many other smaller events like slum development rather than affordable housing progression, brought focus on my personal need for contribution to the greater good.
With a background in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, I bring over a decade of experience to this transformative venture. I always believed in the power of education and hence took the decision to pursue a curriculum progression in Sustainability. I also had a big inspiration from my favourite actor, Robert Downey Jr., who himself was working towards bringing more awareness and help to sustainability backed companies and individuals through his own venture. Taking this into thought I applied to good schools providing relevant education and experience through projects in Sustainability. These included Columbia University in the USA and Cranfield University in the UK.
Although my first choice was Columbia University, financial constraints held me back from accepting their offer and I went ahead with Cranfield University in the UK. Amidst numerous options, I chose to pursue Environmental Management for Business at Cranfield University, drawn to its unwavering commitment to sustainability and robust industry collaborations. This decision proved to be pivotal, laying the foundation for my journey towards founding SCORR Ltd.
At Cranfield, I delved deep into sustainable practices and cultivated invaluable industry connections, laying the groundwork for SCORR Ltd’s mission to bring sustainable choices to the forefront. From sponsored group projects to thesis endeavours, Cranfield provided the perfect platform to refine my expertise and channel it towards meaningful impact.
Now, as I embark on this entrepreneurial endeavour, I am driven by a singular vision: to revolutionize the sustainability landscape by providing individuals and corporations with the tools they need to make informed choices. SCORR Ltd aims to bridge the gap between sustainability and accessibility, offering tailored solutions that empower our clients to navigate the complexities of sustainability with confidence and clarity.
