Born on July 30, 1992, I come from a family of Rogan Art practitioners—my grandfather, Hasan Mamad Khatri, and my father, Sidhik Hasan Khatri. Despite financial struggles and my father's wish for me to focus on studies, I pursued my passion for Rogan Art at 15. Working on farms to buy art supplies, I began my journey in 2008, experimenting with natural stones to create brown and black colors. With support from NGOs, designers, and the government, I started selling paintings and training women in my village, forming a team of 45 artisans, including one with physical challenges. Through Ekibeki, I collaborated with Starbucks and Great Eastern Shipping Company and showcased my work at Lakme Fashion Week (2017) and Paris Fashion Week (2019). My art was gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Japan’s Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida. I’ve been honored with the State Award (2016) and National Kamla Award (2021). To preserve Rogan Art, I continue developing new designs, exploring garments and handloom materials, and teaching future generations, ensuring this rich tradition lives on.
